Kiosk Configuration - Enable Open Hours Schedule (1747)


Overview

This feature was available as of Build 1747_0010.


BackOffice Admins can configure and create Open Hour schedules. Open Hours designate a kiosk's opening hours of use; hours that not set in the scheduler are "Close Hours".  During these times, kiosk graphics will be darkened and indicate "KIOSK CLOSED" to users.

Configuring Open Hours

Open Hours can be configured from the BackOffice, under Kiosk Config.

  1. Ensure the Enable Open Hours Schedule checkbox is selected.
  2. In the center pane, open the Open Hours Schedule dropdown box.
  3. Select an Open Hours Schedule from this list.  
    • To add additional Schedules to the list, please navigate to the Scheduling tab, under Menu Setup.  They will automatically populate into this dropdown field.

  4. Save the settings in the Schedule UI. Your Open Hours will be configured, and the Kiosk UI will be "closed off" for those hours.
  5. Select Save Changes again in the Kiosk Config menu.
  6. Exit the Kiosk Config screen.  
  7. From the BackOffice, perform a Data Sync.
  8. Make sure you restart the Kiosk application to allow the changes to take effect.

What if a customer is using the kiosk?

Note that the Kiosk Menu Closed Screen only comes up when it is on the Main Menu screen, i.e. a transaction is not occuring.

In the chance that a customer is in the middle of a transaction and the Close Hour kicks in, customers will still be allowed to continue using the kiosk, until they have returned back to the main splash screen.
