Volante Self-Checkout - Manager Override (1786)

The following applies to self-checkout Kiosk transactions only. These settings will be greyed out in Regular mode.

In Volante 1786, the following checkboxes have been added in the Kiosk Config settings:

  • Require manager override for cancelling a transaction in self-checkout mode: When selected, this prompts a dialog requiring manager’s credentials in order for the customer to proceed with cancelling a transaction.

  • Require manager override for removing an item in self-checkout mode: When selected, this prompts a dialog requiring manager’s credentials in order for the customer to proceed with removing an item from their order.

Note: This functionality includes Scan2Go items.

Removing an Item - Manager Override

Configuration

To require manager override when a customer removes items from their cart in self-checkout mode, follow the below procedures.

In order to configure the following setting, the kiosk must be operating in Self Checkout mode. Enable Self Checkout mode and save configuration changes prior to configuring the following setting.

  1. Select the General Setup module from the BackOffice.

  2. Select Kiosk Config, then select Properties.

  3. Select a scheme from the Kiosk Configuration Schemes pane (left).

  4. Select the Require manager override for removing an item in self-checkout mode checkbox (center).

  1. Select Save Changes, to save configuration changes.

  2. Select Exit.

Cancelling a Transaction - Manager Override

Configuration

To require manager override when a customer removes items from their cart in self-checkout mode, follow the below procedures.

In order to configure the following setting, the kiosk must be operating in Self Checkout mode. Enable Self Checkout mode and save configuration changes prior to configuring the following setting.

  1. Select the General Setup module from the BackOffice.

  2. Select Kiosk Config, then select Properties.

  3. Select a scheme from the Kiosk Configuration Schemes pane (left).

  4. Select the Require manager override for cancelling a transaction in self-checkout mode checkbox (center).

  1. Select Save Changes, to save configuration changes.

  2. Select Exit.

Cancelling a Transaction

Note: For Scan2Go transactions, a confirmation dialog ‘Cancel and print barcode’ displays asking customers to confirm before cancelling a transaction.

If the Require manager override for cancelling a transaction in self-checkout mode checkbox has been enabled, the following flow displays:

  1. When customer clicks CANCEL ORDER, a dialog appears asking user to cancel transaction or not.

  2. Customer clicks Yes to continue.

  1. The ‘Please call a manager for assistance’ dialog displays indicating customer must wait for manager to attend to the order. This screen does not time out and will display the current dialog until the employee enters their credentials.

Scan2Go Transactions

For Scan2Go transactions, the following dialog displays:

  1. Employer selects SHOW KEYPAD to enter employee ID. Alternatively, employer can swipe badge.

  2. After employer scans badge/enters ID, the order is cancelled and customer is then directed back to the transaction screen.

Removing an Item

If the Require manager override for removing an item in self-checkout mode checkbox has been enabled, the following flow displays:

  1. When customer clicks the delete symbol button in the check-out screen, a pop-up displays asking customer confirmation to remove item from cart.

  2. Customer clicks Yes to continue.

  1. The ‘Please call a manager for assistance’ dialog displays indicating customer must wait for manager to attend to order. This screen does not time out and will display the current dialog until the employee enters their credentials.
