Weight Scale Setup for Sites

Overview

Volanté can be set up so that menu items can be configured to interact with weigh scales.

With proper configuration, menu items can be priced per weight.

Examples:

  • A salad bar charges per weight of salad
  • Sandwiches charged per weight of the meat

Seal Kit Breakdown

The following images are of seal kits.  These are used in weighscale certification.

Hardware Setup

In the Volanté BackOffice software, go to Hardware Setup and specify which COM port the scale is attached to.

NOTE:

Linux systems use non-linked ports. Therefore it only uses ttySx port.

  • For example, on an IBM, the COM Port 3 is ttyS5, which means it will be Port 6 on the dropdown list.
  • Find the ttySx port and add one when you select the COM port below:
    • ttyS0 = 1
    • ttyS1 = 2
    • ttyS2 = 3
