POS Change Menu Sets

A default menu set can be defined for each terminal in the BackOffice Hardware settings and this default menu set would be the one that would get automatically loaded and used. However, you can temporarily change the menu set to be used by from the POS Terminal, once changed the terminal will use this new menu set until the terminal is rebooted. This is useful when a terminal should be using a different menu set than the default menu on a temporary basis.

If a Menu Schedule is created, a popup message will ask you to confirm whether you want to turn off auto menu scheduling and the terminal will not be changing menu types based on the schedule until it reboots.

Order Menu Screen

We can define menu set buttons in the cashier screen or any other similar screen through screen config and use them to change menu set in POS. Go to BackOffice > Screen Config. The menu set button can be found in the left list and needs to be dragged into the desired place. The following image shows that a Default Menu Set button is put in the secondary options of cashier screen.

The name of menu set button has a prefix 'MenuSet: ' which indicates the following name is a menu set name. The menu set buttons are dynamically loaded when the system started. Therefore, if users add a new menu set, they need to restart the BackOffice to see the menu set button in Screen Config. Similarly, when a menu set is deleted, users need to restart the Back Office to remove the corresponding from the list.

Then we can find this button in cashier screen.
