Main Menu

For cashiers, the two main buttons to focus on are User Screen and Cashier.

*(Screens may be customized; buttons may vary on software ordering screen)

User Screen

From the User Screen, users may access Clock In/Out and Break In/Out functions.

Clock In

Tap on the Users screen. Swipe your card (or key in your ID#) and select Clock In from the upper right set of buttons.
Pick your job title if more than one.
Tap on Cash Drawer Config, if using more than one cash drawer. See your supervisor or manager for details on which cash drawer to use.
Read the bulletin. Tap Done.

Cashier Out

Tap on the Users screen. Swipe card, and select Clock Out.

Clock Out

Tap on the Users screen. Swipe card, and select Clock Out.

Break In/Out

For when the user is still clocked into the POS.

Use the Break In button from the User Screen when going on break. (prevents your code from being used )
Use the Break Out button in User Screen when ready to continue with POS.

Cashier Screen

Cashiers will perform day-to-day transactions in the Cashier Screen.

Ring In Sales

Tap Cashier. Swipe your card (or key in your ID#) to access the sales screen.
Select menu items by selecting from the top or bottom tabs. Select menu items.

Ordering a Menu Item With a Modifier

Some items may bring up popups. Popups are special instructions or items that may cost extra.

Select Many. Select all the modifiers needed (i.e. cooking temperature).
Tap Done.
The screen below is an example of available options after selecting cooking temperature.

Excluding Condiments and Other Misc. Items

Some menu items need to be altered. (e.g. No butter on toast.)
Highlight the menu item. A menu box will appear. Select Extra Choices.
Tap on Select Many on right side. Tap on No, then tap on Butter.
No Butter will appear on the order.

Finding Items

When you are unable to find a menu item, select FIND ITEM.
Type in keywords for the menu item on keyboard pad; for best results, do not be too specific. (e.g. For "Spaghetti" type Spag)
Hit enter to initiate a search.

Selecting from Find Items

Select a menu item from the popup. The Menu Item will appear on ordering screen.

Quantity of Menu Items

Manually enter the quantity of a particular menu item.

When ordering multiples of the same menu items, tap the QUANTITYBUTTON.
Type in the quantity needed. (e.g. Enter 10x Teas, instead of individually ordering 10 teas. This can reduce room for human error.)
Select ENTER.

Reading the Transactions

The standard screen for orders is always tax-included.

To calculate a running total before taxes are applied, tap on ZOOM.

Correcting an Order

To remove an item before it is sent, highlight the menu item to be corrected.
Highlight the REMOVE button at top, or select an item, and select REMOVE ITEM from the popup.
Only items that haven’t been committed can be removed. Once committed, it becomes a void. Only your supervisor or manager can void the item.

Print Bill (where applicable)

Tap on Print Bill.
For cases where the bill will not print, please see the Troubleshooting Section.

Print Last Receipt

In the Cashier screen, tap on More Options.
Tap on Print Last Receipt.
If you can’t reprint a bill, contact your supervisor or manager.

Payment Modifications

Cash Payment

Before you can close out any transactions, you must tap TOTAL.
To pay by cash, you can use any of the $2, $5, $10, $20 or Exact Cash buttons.
You can also tap Cash and a keypad will pop up, asking you to enter the total. Enter the total and the system will calculate the change for you.
Tap Close to finish the sale.
The cash drawer will kick open. The cash drawer must be closed before any other transactions can be done.
After the sale is closed, notice that all buttons will be grayed out. You are now ready for another sale.

Open Drawer

Tap on More Options and tap Open Drawer button.

Credit Card Payment

Swipe the Credit Card on POS terminal’s card reader anytime during the sale.
Tap Apply, and 2 copies of the receipts will be printed: 1 Merchant copy and 1 Customer copy.
Tap Done & Exit when finished. Tap Close on the next screen to finish. .

Debit Payment

Tap the Debit button and hit Apply. Swipe the ATM card on pinpad terminal’s card reader anytime during the sale.

On Account

Tap On Account, then swipe the member’s card.
The member’s information will appear on screen.
Pay attention to the account balance. Finish the sale as usual.

Tim's Cards and Voucher Payments

Highlight the correct Payment Type (i.e. Tim’s or Voucher Payment).
Complete sales as usual.

Bill Modification

To modify the entire bill, tap Bill Mods.
Then select the appropriate modification and finish the sale as usual.
- NOTE: This is a Bill Discount.
To modify an item on the bill, highlight the item and tap on Discount Item.
Then select the appropriate modification and finish the sale as usual.
1. NOTE: This is an Item Discount.

Split Payment

For split payment, follow the same procedures as above. Always put credit card or debit payments first, followed by cash payments.

Remove Payment Types

When the payment type is incorrect, tap on PAYMENT button. You are now in the payment.
The left side of the screen will show where the payment has been made. Highlight the incorrect payment and then tap on the REMOVE button (lower right corner).

Exact Cash (Quick Cash Button)

Tap on Total.
Tap on Exact Cash button if paying exact amount.
Tap on Cash button and a popup screen appears. Enter amount the customer gives to calculate their change. Tap on Enter.

Troubleshooting/Common FAQs - "What if" Scenarios

The list below outlines common troubleshooting issues.

Menu items are missing from register?
Contact your supervisor or manager unless instructed otherwise.
Wrong price in register?
Contact your supervisor or manager unless instructed otherwise.
Cash buttons are missing?
Tap on "More Options" to view additional options.
You have permissions to: AS-Access Cashier Screen, but you must clock in first.
Unable to access Cashier Screen.
Current user must first be clocked in via the User Screen.
"Processing Please Wait"
Employee Clock Out is processing.
"Payments have not been made yet, Cannot Close Sale"
A payment needs to be applied. The bill will not close and sales cannot continue.
"Continue to add items to the sale?"
If the bill is totaled and an item needs to be added, this popup will appear.
Select "Yes" if you wish to continue sales for this customer.
You do not have permissions to: MF-Grant Permission To Void Items?
This means only your supervisor or manager can access these actions.
Cash Drawer won’t open?
Check paper, power ON/OFF switch, power cable in back of printer or cash drawer cable.
