Important Highlights from this Release
Compact, Text-Only Tiles – On Kiosks, Menu Item tiles can be configured to be displayed in smaller sizes to take up less space on the kiosk display. Tiles appearing in this this format are referred to as Compact Tiles.
- Automatically Refund Closed AMS Accounts – AMS Accounts with funds still remaining will now be automatically refunded back to credit cards of suspended, expired or deactivated customers accounts
- Meal Plan Button on Kiosk – Customer Accounts eligible for Meal Plans are now allowed to select Meal Plans on Kiosks. This follows a workflow similar to On Account payments on Kiosk.
- Menu Item List by Price Level and Size Reports – Generates reports based on the profit center filter and/or terminal selected.
Additional items:
- Volante is now re-certified with DataCandy Loyalty and Rewards in 1760.
- Ending Balance Reports are now available for Gift Cards and On Account transactions. This also applies to users with AMS accounts.

New Features
VOL-7754 CLOSED Kiosk – Compact Text Only Tiles + Backgrounds
On Kiosks, Menu Item tiles can be configured to be displayed in smaller sizes to take up less space on the kiosk display. Tiles appearing in this this format are referred to as compact tiles.Menu Item and Option Item tiles can be displayed in compact form, however Category tiles cannot.
- Background images and colors can now also be added from the right-pane for Menu Category and Menu Item selection screens.

- VOL-7707 CLOSED Auto Refund closed AMS accounts
Customers that have been suspended or removed from the system may still have a positive on their AMS accounts that require refunds back to the site.- To be eligible for Auto-Refund, the customer account must meet the following criteria:
- Account is eligible for AMS usage
- Account is capable of loading funds.
- Autoload is not necessary for this functionality.
- Account must have a status of Closed, Suspended, or Expired
- Account has a balance remaining over $0
- Account has a saved credit card to refund funds to
- If any accounts meet this criteria, the AMS will refund the account and zero out the balance
- Following the refund, an automated email notification will inform the customer that their account has been refunded the appropriate amount.
- New notification template and settings for refunds can be configured in the BackOffice, under the Email Notifications module.

- To be eligible for Auto-Refund, the customer account must meet the following criteria:
- VOL-7518 CLOSED Meal plan button on the kiosk
Meal Plan buttons are now available on the kiosk for customers who are signed-in with appropriately configured Customer accounts.- This button makes use of Bill Price modifiers that can be configured with any specified percentage discount.
- This button will appear alongside other Payment Options towards the end of a transaction payment workflow.
- Configuration and Usage:
- In customer DB, create a meal plan, and fill in the max per day value for as many meals as needed by the site.
- In the "Other" tab, check off "Apply Discount", and select the price mod that was created. Associate the meal plan with a customer type, and attach that Customer Type to a customer under Customer Info.
- On the Kiosk, sign-in with that customer.
- Look for the Meal Plan to be shown in the Customer Center. Order items and pay with the meal plan.
- Check that the price mod is applied either in the cart or on the printed bill.
- Making a payment with a meal plan that is less than 100% of the bill should let you pick a payment option for the remaining balance.
- VOL-7370 CLOSED Menu Item List by Price Level /Size
Re-implemented the "Menu Item List by Price Level / Size" report.- This report was previously available on 1715, and was reported unavailable in 1755.
- Primarily used by Mayo Clinic.
- This report is generated based on the profit center filter and/or terminal selected.
- This report consists of the following columns: PLU, Price Level (Name), Menu Item (Name), menuItemId, BasePrice (Global Price), UpdatedPrice
- This report was previously available on 1715, and was reported unavailable in 1755.
- VOL-7708 CLOSED Kiosk menu item redesign with Calories and Description
Users can add information on calories and text descriptions for menu items on the Kiosk.
The following new fields are available in Build 1760.

- Alt Description
It is possible to expand the text box for Menu Items to display the description by pressing an "i" icon on the Menu Item tile.
Both types of text are displayed under the Menu Item image, and configured via the BackOffice.

- VOL-7682 CLOSED AMS Ending Balance Detailed Report
- Two new reports are available for sites using AMS:
Account Receivable Ending Balance Detailed Report – Shows each account's starting balance, total load per account, total usage per profit center per account, and ending balance.
Account Receivable Ending Balance Summary Report – Shows each account's starting balance, total load of all accounts, total usage per profit center, total ending balance of all accounts.
Reports can be sorted by their Profit Centres.
These reports will display metrics based on Profit Centers.
To ensure that the reports are displayed properly, users will need to add constraints.
Under Additional Options > Data Customization tab > Add Constraints > Add "Profit Center Name" constraint.
In this field, write the profit center's name using the following format:|<profitcentername>|

- VOL-7651 CLOSED Rounding up for Charity on the kiosk
- Ported over functionality to Round Up Transactions to donate to Charity on the Kiosk.
If rounding up for charity is enabled, upon payment on the kiosk the user is prompted if they want to "round up for charity".
The amount is then rounded up to the nearest dollar, this should be reflected on the receipt and in the reports.

- VOL-7616 CLOSED Port SAF transaction management functionality onto kiosk admin panel
- Two new notifications for Store and Forward (SAF) are now available on Kiosks:
- A notification bubble on the lock screen
- A nottification panel on the admin panel
- These occur when SAF transactions are present on the system. Resolving SAF transactions must still be accomplished in POS mode's SAF module.

- VOL-7610 CLOSED Add a Cap value for amounts loaded through the AMS
Users can now specify a maximum cap for amounts loaded through the AMS on the BackOffice.
This is available under Customer Database > General > Other > Maximum balance limit at AMS
On the Load Account screen and the Autoload amount pane, a message will inform users of the maximum load.
Volante will disallow Load or Autoload amounts that exceed this cap and indicate a generic error.

Added the ability to reassign a customer type to a type other than the default, and maintain this change.
Previously, when attempting to scan a DataCandy card on the Kiosk, an account would be created in the CDB.
However, when attempting update the Customer Database Account Type to one other than the Default Type, syncing and logging in again would result in the Customer Type to revert to the Default Type.
After manual changes are made in the BO, it is also possible to assign a customer type to DataCandy Loyalty customers in general, using a flag under Hardware Configuration.
- This flag can be set by entering "CustomerType:<CustTypeValue>" into the Merchant Number field, under Terminal Setup > Credit Card > iGift Card

- Resolved issues where terminal-server connections occurring at the same time would result in slow performance.
- Previously, when using Table Service, whenever it was necessary to obtain open table transaction information from other terminals, Volanté would attempt to connect to each terminal DB directly.
- In case of connection failure, we attempt a server connection (for each failed terminal connection).
Too many servers attempting to connect at the same time would consume too many resources, leading to slow Table Service usage.

- Added a checkbox labelled 'Allow Mean Plan only during the periods below.' When this is checked, the meal plan should only be usable during time intervals specified, and not outside of these periods.
Example: A meal plan should be usable as normal from Jan 15 to Mar 27, and all other times it should have an effective max of allowed transactions of "0".

- VOL-6933 CLOSED Support charging to multiple accounts in Kiosk
- Kiosks now support the ability to charge to multiple accounts at once (e.g. On Account charges to Cust Type 1, and a secondary payment account).

- VOL-5817 CLOSED Kiosk - Single or One-time use of coupons/voucher barcode
- Coupons and vouchers can now be configured for limited use (including "single use"), and hence cannot be used indefinitely.
- This is configured under General Setup > Discount Setup by checking off "Enable limited use" from Basic Settings.
- If there are a limited number of uses, enter the value in the "Total bar codes" field, and then indicate the number of times per barcode in the "Max uses per bar code".
- Coupons and voucher have a barcode that can be configured with a limit on the number of times it can be scanned and will cease to be usable once the limit has been reached.
- These types of coupons or vouchers are desirable in situations where it may be difficult to enforce a limit on customer reuse. This is particularly useful in situations where the customer has a coupon or voucher which they do not surrender once it has been used.
- Ideal use for this feature is on kiosk units where a cashier is not present to take the coupon upon use.

- VOL-5593 CLOSED POS mode in Kiosk
- The kiosk can now be run as a POS terminal. This feature is enabled by restarting the kiosk in POS mode.
- This allows POS functionality that is not normally available on the Kiosk.
- This functionality is particularly useful when no other POS units are present in the environment, or if the kiosk is a standalone unit.
- Some examples of tasks that can be performed in POS mode which are not normally available on kiosks:
- Close day can be performed in POS mode.
- Troubleshooting of technical issue such as printer issues can be performed in POS mode.
