Updates made to Menu Setup:

  • Menu Setup now features options to disable downloading of particular items.  Needed for items that are created on accident or discontinued entirely, and should not appear as downloadable.

New Features

Improved PAU Reports - Transaction Details and Discount Names

This report will now show a list of PAU transactions (i.e. transactions are indicated along with which PAUs were used).   Discount names associated with the transaction are also included.

When users are prompted to scan the badge, if the scanned badge ID matches the customerCardCode, the following fields will be populated:

  • LastName
  • FirstName
  • Group / Area (Custom Value 1)

Find Item on Quick Menu – Seek out Menu Item Display Names

Users can now right-click on a quick menu entry and select Find Item to jump to the Menu Item in the left tree directly.

This is needed as Menu Item names on Quick Menus differ from their naming on POSes at times (i.e. different “Display Name”).  This change makes it easier to search for Menu Item names from the Quick Menu search due to labeling differences.

“Combo for Chicken”, the Display Name, differs from the Menu Item Name, “Chicken Combo”.

Improvements

Menu Setup - Sync with HeadOffice Behavior Revised

In the Permissions Tab, attributes that cannot sync with HeadOffice will no longer have the corresponding checkbox available.

For items that can make use of this behavior:

  • Users are warned that all items with this field will be reverted to the template state.
  • These fields will be reverted, then subsequently locked to avoid further editing, until unchecked.

Functionality:

  • When this option is checked, the user will first be warned that EVERY item with this field will be reverted.
  • Volanté will revert everything for that field, save the changes, and then lock that field from being edited.
  • Users should be aware that any previous changes made to that field will be lost forever.
  • Locally created items are unaffected; this function is only for items downloaded from Template or HeadOffice.
  • The Select All checkbox option is no longer available; Permissions settings must all be set individually.  This alleviates issues where adjusting every single field would potentially cause issues.
  • When Menu Items are synced with HeadOffice, fields for every downloaded item will now always take values from the HeadOffice.
  • Furthermore, users also cannot overwrite these fields when the items are set to Sync with HeadOffice.

Other Changes to Permissions

NOTE:  For any existing sites that upgrade to this build, and use Permissions, if a field previously had "Sync with HeadOffice" enabled, it is advised that all fields are manually unchecked and re-checked to ensure sync permissions are maintained.

Improved Load Times for Menu Item Lists, Switching Stores, and Scan Code Search

Performed development on the system to use cached data more efficiently.

  • This was necessary for improving loading Menu Item lists when groupings have many links.

Items affected:

  • Improved Find Menu Item relied on this, and was previously very slow
  • Switching stores repeatedly would cause out of memory issues
  • Improved Scan Code search

Menu Setup – Disable Downloading of Items on Template Stores

Menu Setup now features a "Not Downloadable" checkbox, used to disabling downloads on specified items created in Template Stores.

This was needed for items that were created on accident or discontinued entirely, but could not be deleted.  This setting simply sets it so that the item does not appear as downloadable on Store level, reducing confusion and/or preventing unnecessary items from being viewed and downloaded.

Indicators that Option Groupings are associated with specific Items

Users are now given indication of what Option Groupings are associated with an Item in order to easily download the appropriate items.

Groupings associated with an item are now automatically downloaded as part of this process.

Bug Fixes

Unable to Download Newly added "Option Grouping" on an already downloaded item

Fixed issues where users were unable to add Option Groupings on an item that was already downloaded.

'Not Downloadable" checkbox no longer visible on BO

Fixed issues where the “Not Downloadable” checkbox intended for HeadOffice use only would appear on the BackOffice.

Menu Setup - CheckBoxList changes recognized as modifications in tree

Making changes to Checkboxes in Menu Setup will properly register as a change made to a Menu Item (i.e. font turns purple).

Creating schedules with no End Date Set

Creating schedules with no end dates will now give a readable error prompt that indicates the end date is invalid (i.e. End Date does not exist, or is present before the Start Date).

Sizes Group 5 is returning Size Values under Menu Setup

Size Modifier settings under the label “Group 5” now return correct size item attributes.

Kiosk Config – Changes to Edit/Create Schedule for Open Open Hour scheduling

Edit/Create New Schedules functions have been removed from the Kiosk Configuration screen.

These schedules are now handled from the Set Schedules module in Menu Setup.

Kiosk – Options Mods Select One

Fixed issues in Combo/Options where auto-toggling selected options was not visually accurate.

This issue would occur when setting up an item with options and option modifiers, and restricting the maximum option groups to 1.

Mobile Orders Printing to Kitchen

Fixed issues where unchecking “Use Automatic Print Level” and changing its course priority to any value other than Course 1 would fail to print the item to a kitchen printer.

This previously required a workaround query to be run on the BackOffice to set courses for all categories.

Import table/tab groups all seats together

Fixed issues in Tables when importing tables would lead to ungrouped seats being grouped together after being imported.

Option Groupings Behaviour on POS, consistent between Old and New Menu

Fixed issues where users were unable to add Option Groupings on an item that was already downloaded.

User restrictions not applying to multi select

Fixed issues where user restrictions applied to specific fields from the HeadOffice would fail to apply to the corresponding field when using multi-select functions.

Five-cent rounding persisting when refunding cash transactions

Fixed rounding inconsistencies where transaction values would fail to round down to the nearest nickel (5) during refunds.  When performing payments, the value is processed correctly at the rounded value (i.e. customer pays $3.55), but refunds return the original unrounded value (customer pays $3.56).

Scan UPC with Price Fixes

Fixed issues where UPC Scan Item with Price features were not applying correctly, failing to apply discounts.

View Shift Transaction showing results on correct prompts

Fixed issues where pressing OK would take users back to the User Screen > View Shift Transaction, which was identical to Cancel button behavior.

Now, only hitting Cancel will take users back to the User Screen.
