QSR Workflow Diagram

Overview

This document outlines QSR Workflow, including user interaction.

  1. At the Kiosk, a cashier or wait staff enters in an order.
  2. When an order is entered into the POS by the waitstaff, it is displayed on the monitor (similar to older methods of printing orders to a docket).
  3. The next order is fired (sent to the display) and displayed next to the first; and this continues for each additional order.  These displays are configured to receive orders via an xCeed unit (or similar QSR server system) in the kitchen.
  4. The KDS will display all the orders that are coming in and sequence them in your preferred way (time, time by course, rush orders etc).
  5. Chefs will view the order on their KDS screens.  Chefs are prompted toPrep the order, indicated by this display.   This prompts them to proceed with preparing the item.
  6. Extra information for the order can be displayed.  Warnings or states of preparation are indicated by color coding.
  7. When the order is prepared, Chefs can then select “Order Ready”. This is done via the Bump Bar buttons.  When this is done, the Order is “bumped” off the display to indicate the item’s completion.
  8. This status change is sent to the QSR device.  The Chef’s Order is confirmation is sent to a kitchen printer, where a chit is printed out to confirm it is ready.  This chit includes information for the waitstaff, such as time, table, order name, etc.
