Overview

This document provides high-level information about new features and improvements implemented in this release of Volanté Enterprise. In addition, any known problems, and/or bug fixes as well as deprecated functionality are noted herein.

Customer Search / Custom Fields

We're pleased to introduce a series of updates that enhance the functionality of our customer database management system. These improvements are designed to simplify your workflow, improve data accuracy, and provide a more user-friendly experience. With features such as customizable import actions, refined export options, and enhanced search capabilities, managing customer data has never been easier. The addition of customer information tabs and account group customization allows for more personalized customer profiles and streamlined operations. These updates are aimed at making your database management more efficient and effective, ensuring you have the tools you need to succeed.

The introduction of these new features in the customer database search brings several benefits to enhance user experience and functionality:

  • (VENT-12470 - Customer Import - Import custom fields): With the ability to customize import actions and map custom fields, users can ensure that customer data is imported accurately and efficiently, improving data management.

  • (VENT-12261 - CustomerDB export header): The inclusion of an option to exclude headers in exports streamlines the export process, making it easier to work with exported data without unnecessary header information.

    • Implement restrictions to prevent access to modules when users lack suitable permissions based on their roles.
  • (VENT-10953 - Module Lockout based on Roles): Feature functionality to lock out Ops Console users from modules if they do not have suitable access based on their roles.
    • Review and restrict access to modules based on user Role permissions, preventing access to certain tabs if necessary.
    • Display error messages and take users to an error page when they attempt irregular access to restricted modules.
  • (VENT-10952 - [Enterprise] Add new fields to Create/Edit System User): Feature functionality to support assignment of Roles to Enterprise Users and enhance System User creation/editing.
    • Add new fields, including "Roles," "Assigned Sections & Stores," and "User Class," to the Create/Edit System User modal.
    • Implement default values and associations for these fields based on user type (Enterprise, Division, or Store).
  • (VENT-10951 - Setting Default Enterprise Roles): Feature functionality to create Default Enterprise Roles for key roles like Administrator, Menu Manager, and Division Manager.

We are pleased to introduce a series of significant updates to our customer database, aimed at enhancing your coupon and barcode management experience. Enhanced search capabilities and real-time barcode validation contribute to a more efficient workflow. We've introducing precise control with our customer database enhancements. Price History/Schedule Price Changes

In this technical release, we've made significant enhancements to our customer database management system. These improvements include better price synchronization for POS terminals, advanced CSV export options, streamlined item deletion and recovery with scheduled prices, scheduling of menu pricing updates, expanded import/export capabilities, scheduled item price updates, and the addition of a Price History tab. These updates collectively enhance the functionality and usability of our system, providing users with improved control and efficiency in managing customer data and pricing information.

  • (POS-3148 - [POS] Sync Price History to POS / Retrieving Price at POS):  Syncing price history to POS and determining prices using the price history table. Key Features
    • Prices are synced as a table to the POS terminal instead of individual prices.
    • Price determination on the POS terminal is based on the current date and time relative to the scheduled price table.
  • (VENT-12625 - [Concept Library] CSV Export | Add ConceptItemID:) Adding the Concept Item ID field to export files. Key Features
    • Concept Item ID is included in the export file, positioned next to the UUID field.
    • Concept Item ID is generated based on the UUID of the item at the Concept Library level.
  • (VENT-12600 - [Store] Delete Scheduled Price): Managing the deletion of items/option items in relation to scheduled prices. Key Features
    • When an item is deleted, all price history logs for that item are removed and marked as deleted.
    • After an item is "undeleted," only the most recent import to the Store Level is displayed in the price history.
  • (VENT-12567 - [Store] Schedule CSV Import): Expanding CSV import to allow users to schedule menu pricing updates. Key Features
    • Users can now schedule price changes using the Schedule field when importing CSV files.
    • Scheduled price changes are displayed in the price history table with the selected date and time.
  • (VENT-12562 - [Store] CSV Import/Export (update only): Enhancing CSV import/export functionalities at the store level. Key Features
    • The CSV import/export feature now supports importing by Concept Item ID or MenuItem ID.
    • Users can choose to update local items or enterprise items based on duplicates found.
  • (VENT-12561 - [Store] Add Scheduled Price to item / Option): Introducing the ability to schedule item price updates. Key Features
    • Users can schedule price changes for items via the Price History page.
    • Scheduled prices are displayed in the Price History table and applied when the scheduled date and time is reached.
  • (VENT-12559 - [Store] New View Price History for item/option): Adding a Price History tab for viewing historical prices. Key Features
    • A new Price History tab is available on the Edit Item/Option Item page.
    • Users can view a table of historical prices, including their status, date, time, price, change location, and who assigned the price change."

System User Changes (Single Sign On, Activate/Deactivate User)

  • (VENT-12481 - [BO] Microsoft Single Sign On): This feature introduces Microsoft Single Sign-On (SSO) functionality for the Ops Console, streamlining user authentication.
    • Admin users can create new users, assign roles, and stores, with a link sent via email for SSO access.
    • Users can sign in using their Microsoft SSO credentials, improving access management.
  • (VENT-12157 - [BO] Google Single Sign On): This feature enables Google Single Sign-On (SSO) in the Ops Console, enhancing user login options.
    • Admins can create new users, who receive email invitations for SSO access via Google.
    • Users can sign in using their Google SSO credentials, simplifying authentication.
  • (VENT-12097 - [BO] Activate/Deactivate System Users): This feature allows for the deactivation and reactivation of system users, improving user management.
