Quick Menu Basics (Adding Items in Volante BackOffice)

Follow these steps for creating and adding items from the BackOffice into Volante Eats:

Creating a New Menu Item

Items can be locally created or downloaded from the Head Office.

Linking Menu Items to Options and Extras

To add options and extras to menu items:

1.	Select a Menu Item from the Menu Tree View.	Open
2.	With the Menu Item selected, drag and drop an option grouping in to Extras from the right pane to the middle pane. (It is possible you deployment is using the mobile tab in the center isntead of extras, if you are unsure check in with support)	Open

Adding Items to Your Menu Set

Once you have your menu set, you can then drag your desired item from the list of Menu Items (left pane) and drag it to the item list (right pane).

Updating Your Online Ordering Platform

To update your Online Ordering platform with new/existing items, you must perform the following 2-part procedures:

• Data Synch from BackOffice to POS terminal

• Import Menu from Volante Eats  

To perform a menu sync from BackOffice to your POS terminal, perform the following:

Data Synch from BackOffice to POS terminal

1. From the BackOffice click Data Synch.

2. The Terminal Synch Status window opens.

3. Click Send Updates to Terminals. Select the individual components to sync, or select all components.

4. Click OK.

5. Data synch will occur automatically.

6. Once you’ve conducted your data sync, you can then import the modified new/existing menu item(s) from Volante Eats.

Import Menu Items from Volante Eats

1. Navigate to Restaurant > POS Integration.

2. From the POS Integration Type drop-down, ensure Volante is selected.

3. Click Import Menu.

4. Select the fields you want to include in your import file. Note: The following fields must be included*:

   1. Name

   2. Brief Description

   3. Price

   4. Image
      *You can skip the following fields: Visible and Sort Order.

5. Click Import Menu.

6. Your updated menu items will now be available in Volante Eats.
