This page is a guide on installing and setting up USB Printers, specifically the Epson TM-T88V.

Windows USB TM-T88V (1715+)

This is for a USB-A to USB-B type connection, with other connection types results may vary.
Install TM-T88V Windows USB Driver
Install the USB printer using the driver software (EPSON ADP5 - Register, Change, or Delete TM Printer)
1. Add/save the printer as a USB printer, auto setup.
2. Print Windows test page
Install the emulator Epson Virtual Emulator
Assign the installed printer to a COM port using the emulator software
1. Use the "Assign Port" button
2. Print a test page
Add the printer in BO
1. Under "Hardware" > "Computer Setup"
2. Use the assigned virtual COM port
3. "Device Type" should be "Printer"
4. The "Device Detail" should be "Generic Themal"
Add the printer to the POS in BO
1. Under "Terminal Setup" > "Routing & Perpherals"
Sync & restart POS
1. Print a test page under "Admin Options" > "Printer Re-routing"

This does not support cashdrawers or logos
Volante cannot tell if the printer is connected. because in this mode the POS is just using ECHO to the comport.

Testing from cmd (comX means use the com port assigned by the Epson virtual emulator)
echo "test" >> comX

echo "test" >> comX
echo "test" >> comX

echo "test" >> comX
the customer should say yes the printer printed "test"

After Volante computer setup:
Volante test print should print
Receipts or kitchen chits should print
